The holidays mark a special time in our
ministry.
At
Thanksgiving, we passed out 50 turkey dinners, distributing them
as we took the children home. At Christmas, Liberty
Baptist Church held a toy drive to supplement our small supply.
Some of their young people joined our service and assisted in the
distribution of these gifts, passing out everything from footballs to
backpacks.
For a
few, the gifts were simply a prize for coming. But most of our
children are from "inner-city" environments. Their parents met
the bus with tears in their eyes when they realized they now had a
real Thanksgiving meal for their children; the children were
equally joyful, as they knew how important that meal was for the
family. For these, the Christmas gifts we provided were probably
the only gifts they received.
Some of
the people in these pictures, including youth, are workers.
Others are recipients of food and toys who really needed them.
We won't embarrass anyone by telling you which is which; just
know that your donations
brought tears of joy to children's faces, and that your
donations make a
difference in many lives. |
